RANGE: The Pacific fisher's range includes Northern California and the southern Sierra Nevada; reintroduced population in the southern Oregon Cascades. The Northern Rockies fisher is found along the border of Montana and northern Idaho.

THREATS: Habitat fragmentation due to logging and development, incidental trapping, poisoning, disease

POPULATION TREND: Only three small, isolated populations of the Pacific fisher remain; one of those is the result of reintroduction efforts. The Northern Rockies fisher exists as a small population in a reduced portion of its former range.
