Action timeline

April 20, 2010 – The Center filed a petition to list the black rail, Georgia blind salamander, Palatka skipper, Panama City crayfish, Orlando cave crayfish, Big Blue Springs cave crayfish, purple skimmer, small-flower meadow-beauty, Florida cave amphipod and Ichetucknee siltsnail as endangered or threatened species under the U.S. Endangered Species Act. This was part of our effort to list 404 Southeast aquatic species under the Act.

2011 – The Ichetucknee siltsnail was included in the Center's historic 757 species settlement, in which the agency agreed to move forward on listing the snail.

June 18, 2012 – The Center filed a notice of intent to sue the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for failing to make the legally required finding on Endangered Species Act protection for the species we petitioned for in 2010 — including the Ichetucknee siltsnail.
